NWA 10691 (CK4) SOLD OUT

NWA10691(97_88g)aOne small partially crusted 97.88g stone was purchased out of Morocco in March of 2016. It was sent to Dr. Anthony Irving for classification and determined to be a CK4 Carbonaceous Chondrite.  I prepared the slices which come slightly polished on both sides. They feature dark chondrules set in a greyish green matrix. Each slice will come in a quality labeled meteorite display box.

Petrography as follows:

Well-formed, separated chondrules containing Cr-magnetite occur in a matrix with stained Cr-magnetite in addition to olivine, orthopyroxene, clinopyroxene and intermediate plagioclase. Olivine (Fa29.3-29.5, N = 3), orthopyroxene (Fs19.9-21.9Wo0.8-0.5, N = 3), clinopyroxene (Fs9.1-9.8Wo47.3-46.0, N = 2).
