NWA 10689 (Mesosiderite) SOLD OUT

NWA10689(87_98g)aA small 87.98g stone was purchased out of Morocco in February of 2016. It was sent to Dr. Anthony Irving for classification and determined to be a Mesosiderite.  I prepared the slices which feature a dark brown with a nice amount of metal distributed throughout. Each slice will come in a quality labeled meteorite display box.

Petrography as follows:

Medium-grained aggregate consisting of orthopyroxene, calcic plagioclase, olivine, silica polymorph, kamacite, taenite, ilmenite and chromite. Metal constitutes ~55 vol.% of the specimen. Orthopyroxene (Fs34.3-34.4Wo2.7-2.1, FeO/MnO = 22-24, N = 3), olivine (Fa15.4, FeO/MnO = 41; Fa27.3, FeO/MnO = 36), plagioclase (An91.0-95.3Or0.2-0.1, N = 2).
